Any parent who has ever jumped up, waved their arms and wanted to shout from the bleachers, “That’s my kid!” will know how I am feeling – proud to be shouting from the sidelines and looking like a fool. The mural – need I mention the labor pains - will be sold to the highest bidder and head out into the world again. Its glamorous life will go on without so much as a sigh of memory for me and the Brooklyn studio where it was birthed.
It was created as a family event as you can see by my daughter’s presence. My husband helped with the installation. In those days, we lived on a small income and big dreams.
So, how much do you think it will sell for?
